The enterprise was active as lighter with own steam barges, with which the sailers in fairways were unloaded and towed to various unloading points in port. Last but not the least, closing of both of the coal-fired power plants, as well as the smelter and the four dockyards in Lübeck compelled the shipping company to develop other supporting legs.
